Mary’s company is designed to treat customers the way Mary’s grandpa treated her. Mary was raised and lived with her Italian grandparents after her mother passed away when she was two, and her dad visited evenings and weekends. As a little child, Mary’s grandpa who then retired and had a few custodians job and one in particular was maintaining a events hall next to their house. Before and after an event Mary always was asked to come along for clean up. Mary’s grandpa gifted Mary with a little broom and mop. Grandpa marked out a square where he wanted Mary to sweep and mop. She then swept and mopped it the best she could. Grandpa in the meantime did all the cleaning. After he was done, praised Mary for the best square and bragged to all the neighbors, his supervisor and to her grandma. Mary remembers how proud she felt and took all the credit for all the work even though her grandpa did all the work. Mary cherishes those memories and strives to create and man events with that idea in mind. Mary does all the work but the client should feel like her grandpa made her feel special and proud and like they did it all themselves.
Besides cleaning Mary’s grandpa use to bring Mary along to any client set ups and tell the client, I am not in charge of this function, Mary’s my five-year old granddaughter is in charge. She’s your boss. Mary proceeded after learning the rules from grandpa assisting clients in setting up their event from helping in the kitchen to hanging decorations and arranging tables. Clients always respected her opinions and always gifted Mary and her grandpa with sweets and food from the event and in many cases came during the event and invited grandpa and Mary to come into during the event as a thanks for the help. Hence Mary’s love for sweets!!
